  • ACS is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all individuals in our day program, including adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), staff, and other visitors. To maintain this environment, all parents and visitors must adhere to the following Code of Conduct while on our premises or participating in community outings.  By following this Code of Conduct, parents and visitors help us maintain a safe and supportive environment for everyone.

  • Respectful Behavior
    • Treat all participants, staff, and other visitors with dignity and respect.
    • Refrain from using profanity, inappropriate language, or derogatory remarks.
    • Avoid disruptive behavior that may interfere with the program’s operations or the well-being of participants.
  • Confidentiality
    • Respect the privacy and confidentiality of all program participants.
    • Do not take photos, videos, or share any personal information about participants or staff without prior written consent.
    • Discussions regarding individual participants should be conducted privately and only with appropriate staff members.
    • Discussions about the status of other participants (who are not affiliated with the visitor) are confidential and will not be disclosed.
  • Safety and Supervision
    • Follow all program safety policies and procedures, including emergency protocols.
    • Parents and visitors must not intervene in staff-led activities, therapy sessions, or behavior management unless explicitly requested by staff.
    • Do not bring outside food, drinks, or personal belongings that may pose a risk to participants with dietary or sensory sensitivities.
  • Asking for Food or Personal Items
    • Parents and visitors should not ask for or accept food, drinks, or other personal items from participants.
    • Participants may have dietary restrictions, allergies, or personal boundaries that must be respected.
    • If assistance is needed, please speak with a staff member rather than requesting items directly from a participant.
  • Appropriate Communication and Conflict Resolution
    • Address any concerns or grievances with staff professionally and through proper channels.
    • Avoid public complaints, gossip, or confrontations in front of participants or other visitors.
    • If a disagreement arises, work collaboratively with staff to resolve issues in a constructive manner.
