  • We are no longer using UTA for training purposes for vehicles.  We have added 4 classes everyone must take, even if you don’t drive as most will be riders and are there to assist the driver as well:
    • SAFE: 15 Passenger Van Training 
    • SAFE: Driver Safety
    • ACS Van Operations *
    • Lift Operations *

  • SCOMM: Checking and responding
    • All staff are encouraged to check their SCOMM in Therap regularly, at least once per shift.  When you log in on either the app or browser, you should be able to see when there are unread messages. 
    • Staff can also setup email/texting profiles as well to be alerted when there are important emails. Please see the training here if you are unsure how to setup alerts.  https://www.abilitychoice.org/media/training_therap-notifications.php 
  • Documentation: Reviewing the questions listed in each task, and answer accordingly
    • Therap Daily Log: What you did, what they did, strength/barriers? 
    • Goals: Accurately and timely complete goals each shift
    • If Therap is unavailable, take notes on paper and transfer to Therap ASAP
  • Be on time for your shifts!
    • For Day Program shifts, only clock in when you are ready and able to start your shift (inside the building in your work area or staff office area, have your coffee, personal belongings put away and ready to accept directions or assignments). Do not clock in/out from your car.
    • When done for the day, clock out, do not interrupt others who may still be working.
    • For remote shifts, clock in only at remote work locations (SL/SE) when you are ready to start the shift at the location.  Clock out before you leave the location. 
  • Looking for ASL staff
    • Supported Employment is looking for staff who are fluent enough in ASL to work with hearing impaired clients at their worksite. Anyone interested in a couple of job coaching opportunities using ASL, please contact Michael at Extension 303 or mhollinger@abilitychoice.org.
  • Gas Cards
    • We now have new gas cards for all vehicles.
    • Keep the gas cards in
      • The Arm Rest Cubby (preferred)
      • Glove Box
      • Dash Cubby
    • You will need to enter the mileage of the MAIN odometer.  
    • Your Drive ID/PIN is the last 4 of your social security number
    • Do not mix Cards.  If the cards come up missing, notify the front office to get a temporary and replacement card.
    • Receipts are not required.  The cards are time of day and total $ limited for security purposes.

Employee of the Month Nominations 

  • Tooele: Christian: Chris is dedicated to his job and is always willing to help others. He has shown a lot of growth and we are very proud of him.
  • Draper: Miriam: Miriam is always willing to jump in and help.
  • Salt Lake: Josh – maintains calm demeanor, tackles any task requested of him, keeps the participants in a happy state, jumps ship between departments on a whim without complaints.
  • Employment: Scott:,large steps in performance and successes working with clients
  • Support Living: Eden: Acknowledgement Perfection! She does an amazing job communicating through Scomms and even ACKNOWLEDGING those sent to her! I appreciate her attention to detail!  
  • Management:  Danielle: Always there to assist in problem solving situations and eager to step up and help out in other areas and departments.

  • Eden Williams: Always willing to help out in any situation whether she was asked or not. A+ quality of work. Team player, self starter, and always has a great attitude. Her co-workers and participants adore her.
